We offer an international curriculum to students aged between 6 and 11 years, which allows students to develop lifelong skills and to build knowledge through inquiry-based teaching and learning. Our teaching and learning methods allow students to apply their knowledge and skills to real-life contexts, making learning rich and meaningful.

A student-centred approach to teaching and learning allows every student to be independent, and students are encouraged to take ownership of their own learning. This enables pupil's critical thinking skills to grow and develop.

Through our curriculum we focus on developing the whole child academically, socially, physically, emotionally and ethically. We strive to develop internationally-minded students, and through transdisciplinary themes, units of inquiry are developed that incorporate student’s individual understanding, knowledge and interests.

Children enter school with diverse experiences, knowledge, personalities and backgrounds. At BISS Sentrum, we recognise that every student is unique and therefore that lessons cannot be standardised.

We ensure that every child has their learning needs and style met through differentiated learning activities, appropriate to their age and academic abilities. In our classrooms, this is done through purposefully planned lessons that create opportunities for children to acquire new-found knowledge from each other and to be academically challenged at their personal level.

BISS Schools follow the Norwegian intake system. Students are placed according to the calendar year they were born.
