The Norwegian Young Researchers (Unge Forskere) Competition finals happen on Friday 24th April 13:00 – 14:00 and three of our MYP5 students are finalists. The event is being streamed https://www.facebook.com/events/1112120492480456
Unge Forskere is an invitation for teenagers to do research into any topic that interests them. There are two age groups: Junior and Senior High School (Ungdomskole and Videregåendeskole). The aims perfectly match those of the MYP 5 Personal Project and DP Extended Essay. The object is to give enthusiastic young people an opportunity to present their work to a broader public and for them to meet the other potential academic leaders of the next generation. The network these young people form at these meetings often continues for many years.
Over the past two years BISS has won the first prize in both the junior and the senior sections. The winners from BISS have gone on to represent Norway in China, Outer Mongolia, Dublin, Stockholm and, had it not been for the virus, California. This year four national finalists have been selected in the junior section, three of the four are from BISS. The ceremony on Friday will announce only the first prize in each section.
