Friskole Application Update
Friskole Application Update

The British International School is delighted to announce the approval by the Norwegian Education Department (UDIR) of its application to become a friskole. The school will run at the present campus in Gausel. Pupils will continue to follow the International Baccalaureate Primary and Middle Years Programmes, an internationally recognised education, taught in English. Currently, the school teaches the IB curriculum to children of more than 50 nationalities. The school will have a maximum capacity of 400 children. Approval as a 'Friskole' will mean an 85% subsidy from the state towards school fees so that parents will pay significantly less than the current rate. We are extremely satisfied that the school's future is now secured and that it can continue to offer the same quality of education for all existing and new pupils. Applications for the new school will open in January 2019. Children born between January 2003 and December 2013 are invited to apply. All current pupils will be automatically allocated a place. Parents will be invited to attend information meetings about the friskole, in January 2019
