Where we are in Time and Place - PYP3 #BISSGausel

PYP3 students have recently been exploring the past through their 'Where We Are in Place and Time' unit. Over several weeks, students worked in research groups to learn about different civilizations, investigating important elements such as trade, government, architecture, religion, the arts and written language. Through this inquiry, they developed deeper conceptual understandings about how societies developed and how the past connects to the present. The unit culminated in a Celebration of Learning with the parent community!

Throughout the unit, students explored these concepts in many different ways. They examined timelines to help visualize change over time, created mosaics and tessellating patterns inspired by ancient designs, and imagined what life might have been like in the civilizations they studied. As part of their learning, students also wrote postcards from the perspective of a time traveler visiting the past, combining their research with creativity and storytelling.
