PYP1 taking Action #BISSGausel
Jo Horne

As part of their unit 'How We Organise Ourselves,' our PYP1 students have been inquiring into the production of food, as well as concepts such as weight and money. To deepen their understanding, students applied their learning in a real-world context by baking chocolate chip cookies at home and bringing them to school.

The experience allowed students to connect their classroom learning with practical skills while also thinking about how their actions can support others. Our PYP1 students were enthusiastic about raising money for charity and recognising the importance of helping those who may need support.

This September, one of our teachers, Mrs Cullion, will be taking on the incredible challenge of walking along the Great Wall of China for five days, up to seven hours a day, to raise awareness for a Breast Cancer charity. Our students were inspired to contribute to this cause through their efforts and were proud to take action in support of others.
