Outdoor Drawing #BISSGausel
Jo Horne

As part of our Outdoor Education program, our PYP6 students recently took part in a drawing competition. Inspired by time spent outdoors, they designed their own fantasy creatures set in forest environments, a beautiful blend of imagination, observation and nature-connected learning. We are delighted to share that, while we didn’t take the top prize, our students’ artwork was recognised with a runner-up award, earning BISS Gausel a wonderful book package!

The team at LOOP Environmental School let us know that the competition received an overwhelming number of impressive entries, and the jury, including professionals from media, WWF, and Nature and Youth, were particularly struck by the effort and creativity shown by our PYP6 students. They also encouraged students to continue engaging in nature-based learning experiences and warmly invited BISS Gausel to join their Sustainability School Live in 2026.

Opportunities like this highlight the beauty of outdoor learning: children slowing down, observing closely, imagining boldly, and connecting deeply with the natural world.
