We are all lifelong learners and during these 2 days of training our staff have been working across Primary and Secondary departments to inquire deeper into ATLs, grounded in the belief that learning how to learn is fundamental to a student’s life in and out of a school context. Approaches to learning (ATL) are skills designed to enable students to “learn how to learn.” providing a common language for teachers and students to use when reflecting and building on the process of learning.

PYP3 have been responsible and caring. They went for a walk in the woods in our immediate vicinity to collect any rubbish and items that shouldn't be there. They collected a lot in a short time and everything looks so much better now. Thank you PYP3! #ThisisBISS #BissGausel #bissisproud

PYP6 recently completed their ELO connected to medical advances throughout history and the positive impact they have had on the world. They created a museum of curiosities and invited PYP3 to the museum so they could share their learning. #thisisBISS #BissGausel

Recently we donated a set of laptops to the Methodist Junior High School in Asesewaa district, Ghana in 2019 and 2023 through connections with one of our members of staff. This has helped the student's performance in both internal and external exams improve tremendously in all subjects of their curriculum.

They recently entered some female students to take part in the national Girl's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) program and they were awarded the third position. A fabulous achievement considering the location of the School.

The award for third position was a cash donation of 2000 GHC and a modern ICT Lab to be built for the school by the Ministry of Education, Ghana. This is a massive achievement for the school and will have an amazing impact on the progress they have made already. They attributed this huge success to the donations received from BISS. PYP 4 have been exploring Vivaldi's Four Seasons as part of their How the World Works UOI. They listened to a section of one of the seasons silently, really thinking about how Vivaldi was representing the time of year through his music which season it was and after some discussion in their groups drew a picture representing the season they thought it was. For some seasons they could make connections but for others, especially Summer, they really didn't think it sounded very summery - maybe Vivaldi didn't come to Norway for Summer! #thisisbiss #BissGausel
