MYP4 Sustainable Urban Development
Jo Horne

MYP 4 have been inquiring into sustainable urban development. Last week they visited Stavanger to find evidence of innovative ideas and SMART city projects. We look forward to seeing the films, websites and presentations they create about their local area! #thisisBISS #BissGausel

School is starting to look festive thanks to these MYP5 students who helped decorate the tree in the main office. They did a great job! #thisisBISS #BissGausel

PYP6 Raise money for Gi en Jul
Jo Horne

We have a lot of caring students in PYP6. During the last few weeks, they have been inquiring into human rights and equal opportunities in their unit of inquiry. They were asked to consider how they could take action and help others by raising money for Gi en Jul in their spare time. Two groups were busy this last weekend selling hot drinks and baked goodies to shoppers in Kiwi and out and about. They did a fantastic job and raised a lot of money to add to the funds raised by the year group. We are so proud of them for being so caring and to give up their time. #rolemodelsforthefuture #bissisproud #thisisBISS #BissGausel

Tectonic Plates
Jo Horne

Research can take many forms and in their recent unit on Natural disasters, as well as using books and their devices to search about tectonic plates, PYP3 rolled up their sleeves and had a go at a simulation. Using a mixture of maizena and water (oobleck) and using crackers on top they simulated the movement of tectonic plates on the asthenosphere. After this 'hands-on' research, they now know the difference between divergent, convergent and transform fault boundaries! #thisisBISS #BissGausel
