Welcome to the November/December edition of BISSness.  As always BISS has been busy - inside and outside - with lots of fantastic learning opportunities and experiences.  We hope you and your families have a very peaceful and relaxing holiday and we look forward to more busy BISSness in the new year.


Letter from Principal

The end of the longest term of the year is just around the corner. I am delighted that the School Board have now appointed my successor and we look forward to welcoming Dr Stephen Bizley to BISS next summer.



New Principal for August 2018


The School Board are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Stephen Bizley who will take up his post at BISS on the retirement of Anne Howells in August 2018.



Litmus Light School in Uganda

For three years PYP3 and PYP 4 classes at the British International School of Stavanger have exchanged letters with pupils from Litmus Light Junior in the town of Mateete, Sembabule District, Kingdom of Buganda, Uganda.

In October 2017 Susanne travelled with Pat Brackenbury and Dr Kim Damstra to meet the pupils of the school and spend some time working with the pupils and teachers. Here is Dr Damstra's blog about the visit.


BISS MUN Conference

Friday 8th of December the BISS MUN Club took over the Cube and debated the issue of "Granting Immunity and Protecting the Freedom of Journalism".


BISS - The Future

The school board recently announced the results of consultations alongside details of changes that the board would like to make to the structure of the school as a result of these consultations.
