Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents

Term is well underway and as you can see from our Facebook feed all age groups are very busy and most importantly, enjoying their various learning experiences.

The School Board is now fully engaged in appointing my successor which is being handled by Anthony Millard Consultancy (UK). It is hoped that the appointment process will be completed by December, the new Principal taking over my post in August 2018.

MYP3 Trip to Germany

At the start of this month MYP3 had the opportunity to travel to Germany to experience rural and urban Germany to support their current unit of work back in class.

OPERATION BLUE WATER

by Omkar and Matthieu – Successfully Completed!

Last academic year Omkar and Matthieu, then in MYP3, started their CAS project to help a school, Shrinikethan Kanadda and Marathi Medium School of Nipanni, by providing a water filter.

IB Diploma Students on tour

From the 7th to the 9th of September some of the sixth form college students (Diploma year 2) visited the UK to have a look at different types of universities. 

Uganda

During half term Ms Fischer, Dr Damstra and Ms Brackenbury will be travelling to Uganda to visit our link school - Litmus Light Junior School. The school is situated in Ssembabule, a remote area in the district of Matete, approximately five hours south west of Kampala.  Click the link to read more.

Adopt a Beach Clean Up!

On National Beach Cleaning Day (September 16th) , about 120 BISS volunteers gathered at sunny Vaulen beach to take some action.  Click the link to read more. 

Football Victory!

On the afternoon of 21st September Team BISS played against the ISS for the first time in a mixed year MYP1-3, 9-a-side football match. The boys won 3-2 in a very tense and pulsating game in driving rain!

Well done to the boys, Mr Thompson and Arthur Hoth for developing the team. 

Pre-School Activity Days

A reminder that Pre-School 2 will be holding an activity day on the 29th September.  It's a chance for parents to come and see first hand the wonderful outdoor education programme that the preschool children experience every day.
