Learning in English

At BISS, English is the language of instruction, fostering a vibrant and collaborative learning environment where students from diverse backgrounds thrive.

At Biss Sentrum we are proud to welcome students from 50+ different nationalities. For children who are new to the English language, class teachers and support staff use UDL principles to ensure lessons are accessible at all levels of English proficiency.

We are committed to ensuring that students develop the confidence and skills needed to thrive academically and socially fully participating in all aspects of school life.

While English serves as our common language of instruction, we deeply value and celebrate the rich tapestry of mother tongues represented within our school community. We believe that a child's first language is integral to their identity, cultural heritage, and cognitive development.

We actively encourage students to maintain and develop their mother tongues through various initiatives, recognizing the numerous benefits of multilingualism. By fostering an environment where all languages are respected and appreciated, we empower our students to become truly global citizens, equipped with enhanced communication skills, cross-cultural understanding, and a strong sense of self.
