Welcome to the Primary School at BISS Sentrum, where our Primary Years Programme (PYP) aims to nurture internationally-minded learners who are preparing themselves for a future in an increasingly interconnected world. Through the PYP, we seek to develop global citizens by encouraging curiosity, open-mindedness, and a commitment to taking action for a better future. Our students engage in inquiry-based learning that encourages understanding of global issues through interdisciplinary learning and collaboration. This empowers them to become confident, thoughtful, and compassionate individuals who recognise that they have an important role in shaping their future, and the future of others.

I have attended or worked at international schools for my whole life and have a deep understanding of the importance that they play for children, and families, who grow up outside a single national culture. Our students, families, and teachers bring a rich tapestry of backgrounds, languages, and experiences, and by embracing this variety, we help create a school where everyone belongs and is valued for their unique strengths and talents. We want our students to feel joyful every day as they learn more about themselves and the world around them, inspiring them and others to grow and take on new challenges.

At BISS Sentrum, the PYP framework ensures that our students build a strong foundation in fundamentals such as literacy and mathematics while developing essential transferrable skills through our Approaches to Learning. The PYP goes beyond traditional curricula to emphasise reflection, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and resilience: key competencies for success in the 21st century. By focusing on skills-based development throughout their learning, we aim equip our students with the tools to adapt, innovate, and lead in a rapidly evolving world.
