Learning
Our aim is to provide a happy and stimulating environment and a well-balanced programme, allowing every child to develop his/her potential at his/her own pace.
How We Learn
At BISS Preschool, we believe in the power of play. Children spend time outdoors every day, exploring the local area, playing in our playgrounds, and enjoying the nearby woods and beaches. This hands-on approach fosters curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. We integrate this with the requirements of the Norwegian Framework Plan (Rammeplan) for preschools.
Our teaching teams prioritize creating a happy and engaging learning environment. We aim to nurture children's social-emotional development, encouraging positive interactions with peers and teachers. We believe that every child is unique and deserves an individualized learning experience that supports their growth as a capable learner.

Inquiry through play is at the heart of our curriculum. We encourage children to explore their world, ask questions, and make connections between their experiences and their surroundings. Through play, children develop essential skills such as:
- Problem-solving
- Language acquisition
- Literacy and numeracy
- Self-management
- Physical and relationship skills
In our inquiry-based classrooms:
We focus on developing children's communication skills. Through the richness of their diverse languages, children develop a strong foundation in English, enabling them to thrive in our learning communities.
Our Outdoor Programme
We aim to be outside with the children daily unless the weather is exceptionally bad. We have an exciting outdoor play area in delightful surroundings, and we regularly go for nature walks and play in the forest.
