In a preschool inquiry-based classroom, learning is driven by children's natural curiosity and a desire to explore. It's a child-centered approach where:  

• Children ask questions and drive their own learning: Instead of teachers directly instructing, they encourage children to wonder, ask questions, and investigate topics that interest them.  
• Learning is hands-on and experiential: Children learn through play, exploration, and hands-on activities like building, experimenting, and observing.  
• The classroom is a place for discovery: The environment is rich with materials and opportunities for exploration, allowing children to actively engage with their surroundings.
• Teachers act as facilitators: Teachers guide children's learning by asking open-ended questions, providing support, and encouraging critical thinking. 
• Learning is integrated: Concepts are explored across different subject areas, connecting learning to real-life experiences.  

This approach fosters a love of learning, develops critical thinking skills, and allows children to build a deep understanding of the world around them.

Our children bring the richness of their many languages to our community, and we help them develop a common language of English.

• Exploration and discovery: Children are encouraged to explore their environment, ask questions, and develop a sense of curiosity and wonder.
• Collaboration with families: The Framework Plan emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the kindergarten and families to support children's learning and development.

At our preschool, we believe that play is more than just fun; it's the foundation of learning. Play-based learning allows children to explore their world through hands-on experiences, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. Through engaging activities like building with blocks, exploring nature, and imaginative play, children develop essential skills such as problem-solving, communication, and social-emotional intelligence. Our play-based curriculum provides a nurturing environment where children can learn at their own pace, following their interests and developing a lifelong passion for discovery.

Spending time outdoors every day is an essential part of the Norwegian preschool experience, and for good reason! In Norway's beautiful natural environment, outdoor play fosters a deep connection with nature, encouraging children to explore, discover, and develop a love for the outdoors. Daily outdoor time supports physical development, strengthens the immune system, and improves mental well-being.

Children learn to navigate different terrains, develop gross motor skills, and appreciate the changing seasons. In the Norwegian context, where outdoor play is deeply ingrained in the culture, children learn to embrace the elements and become resilient individuals who thrive in all weather conditions.
