Learning at BISS Pre-School
BISS Pre-School is for children aged from 18 months to 5 years of age. The Pre-School is part of the British International Schools of Stavanger.
There are 2 departments - Lower Pre-School and Upper Pre-School. Both departments follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. This is integrated with the requirements of the Norwegian Framework Plan (Rammeplan) for nursery schools.
Upper Pre-School also follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). This curriculum is continued in the Primary Department of BISS Gausel and BISS Sentrum.

- Children go outside every day
Our aim is to provide a happy and stimulating environment and a well-balanced programme, allowing every child to develop his/her potential at his/her own pace.
The Pre-School benefits from having secure outdoor play and activity areas as well as being adjacent to the Gausel Forest, a local children's farm and the beaches of Gandsfjord.
Children go outside every day. They may explore the local area or play outside in the playgrounds around the school.
Pre-School class leaders and assistants aim to ensure that all children become happy and engaged learners, who are keen to come to school and able to interact with their friends and teachers.
We put great emphasis on allowing young children to explore and use their natural curiosity. We help them to make meaningful connections between their surroundings and their experiences.
We develop their imaginations and, through the richness of their many languages, develop a common language, English, in readiness for joining our main school learning communities.
