Lower Pre-School - 18 months - 3 years
Lower Pre-School focuses on playing and exploring. We support our children to become independent of parents while at school as well as learning how to share and play alongside others.
The Lower Pre-school department follows the English Early Years curriculum, called the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We integrate this with requirements of the Norwegian Framework Plan (Rammeplan) for nursery schools.
The aim of the Lower Pre-School is for students to learn through playing and exploring. The children are encouraged to be active learners through play-based activities, which provides opportunities to cultivate creative and critical thinking.
Our lower Pre-School staff ensure that every child matters, and our top priority is the students’ education, well-being and safety. We allow children to learn with enjoyment and to achieve through contribution, while building positive relationships.
We work closely with parents and carers to ensure the best of care for every child. This includes regular conversations with parents about their child and standard development checks at the age of two years according to the EYFS protocol.
