Craft Clubs with Mister Vanger - Tuesday and Wednesday

Julia is the creative force behind Mister Vanger. A highly experienced knitter and crocheter as well as a keen sewer. She runs courses and workshops for adults as well as designing and creating her own range of toys, accessories and decorative items.


Julia has also been a volunteer helper at the Stavanger Rainbow and Brownies units for the last 5 years working with girls from age 5 to 10years

Little Sew and Sews

Wednesdays PYP5 and PYP6 

Part sewing course, part craft club, Mister Vanger’s little sew and sews will learn basic sewing skills as they work on a number of fun projects over the term. This will give them the opportunity to express their creativity and develop their self-confidence as they produce finished items. Suitable for complete sewing beginners and those already sewing.

Course fee includes all the materials needed for the projects in the sessions.

From string to things knitting club

Tuesday 3 - 4pm

MYP1 - 5

After school club for all those interested in needlework crafts - regardless of ability. The aim of the club to is develop sewing and yarn skills through working on projects tailored to ability, interests and personal style. Needlecrafts are a great way to get creative while developing skills and confidence  and nothing beats the satisfaction of a finished item!

Complete beginners, novices and intermediates – all abilities are welcome!

Course fee includes all the materials needed to complete a number of projects over the term.

The aim of the Be Creative Be Artistic external art club is to let the pupils learn different art techniques, while letting them work with different paint medias such acrylics, water colour, oil paints. They also learn about sculpting, sketching and still life paintings.

Aurora Vocalis - Private Music Academy

Aurora Vocalis Music Academy Weekdays 15.00-20.00, Wednesdays 14.10-20.00.

Aurora Vocalis (AV) is a private music academy collaborating with BISS Gausel to provide extra curricular specialist music lessons for their students. We also host and arrange ABRSM music exams in Stavanger (UCAS approved).

Lessons are given after school, or weekends to all levels and ages, parents included. Individual lessons are tailored according to our student’s goals and needs. Gausel International Choir

Young Coderz 

YoungCoderz Coding club teaches Programming, Robotics and Electronics. We have courses for students from PYP 3 and above.

PYP3,4 and 5 will be learning game programming using Scratch, Robotics and Drones. 

Year 6 and above - YoungCoderz Senior - Python Game Programming -  Mondays from 3 pm to 4.30pm starting February 13th

In parallel, the students will also be building their own personnel project using these concepts and our trainer would help them complete.

PUMA's — Taekwon-do Club - 4  classes on Wednesday between 14:15 - 18:00

Juniors from age 7 and Seniors age 12+

PUMA Norway is an exciting martial arts club held at BISS each week. By providing a welcoming and friendly approach the club aims to provide instruction in the Korean art of Taekwon-Do. Students are also taught stranger awareness and anti-bullying tactics. Through PUMA Norway, students increase their levels of self-confidence, self-awareness and overall fitness. We have a variety of classes to offer all ages and abilities. We are affiliated with The Professional Unification of Martial Arts UK www.puma-uk.com and the International Taekwon-Do Federation. We hold internationally recognized testing three times a year, so that students can develop skills and build on their qualifications at another centre.

Little PUMA's - Taekwon-do Club - Wednesday, 16:30 - 17:00

Class for ages 4 to 7

Little Puma's is a revolutionary way of teaching this age group life skills, using martial arts as a training platform. The Little Puma's syllabus prepares a child mentally as well as physically, improving hand-eye coordination; team-working skills; and, communication and verbal skills. Students will develop the confidence to say NO and to speak up for themselves. The syllabus also enables children to deal with real life issues such as bullying and stranger awareness. The programme is especially designed to help teach young children the important qualities of respect, self-control and confidence in a fun way, utilizing educational games and exercises - but most importantly - they will have FUN!

Girl Guiding

Rainbows (5 - 7 yrs) Tuesday 17:00 - 18:00

A fun and exciting programme for girls aged five to seven it's all about learning by doing. Rainbows is all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, learning new things and having fun. Girls get their hands dirty with arts and crafts, get in touch with nature and play games - it's all about learning by doing. Rainbows follow a diverse and engaging programme and can take part in lots of different activities with girls their own age.

Brownies (7 - 10 yrs) Wednesday 17:45 - 19:15

Brownies is about trying new things that teach girls aged seven to ten about themselves, their community and their world

Brownies introduces girls to a world of new opportunities, challenges and fun.

Girls go along to camps, day trips and sleepovers. They get together with their friends at regular meetings where they learn new hobbies, get creative, explore other cultures and have outdoor adventures.

As well as trying activities in their meetings, girls choose from interest badges related to things they want to know more about.

Guides have an exciting and varied programme designed to inspire and challenge girls from 10-14 yrs/14-18 yrs.  What you do in Guides is up to you, from taking part in lots of exciting activities at regular meetings to special events and trips away.  You will choose from different badges and awards which will help you learn new skills and try new challenges. You can do some of this on your own and others you’ll do in groups in your regular unit meetings.
