MYP at BISS Gausel

The MYP (Middle Years Programme) is for students aged 11 - 16. The MYP is part of the International Baccalaureate continuum and prepares students for the two year Diploma programme or the two year Career-related Programme.

At this age students are establishing their identity and building self esteem, the MYP offers a well rounded education that helps our youngsters achieve success in school and in life.

Our goal is to create role models for the future by teaching them tools for lifelong learning while fostering responsible attitudes that help our students discover how to use what they learn to take principled action.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning (ATL) are skills that have relevance across the curriculum. They are skills that help students 'Learn how to Learn.'

They provide a solid foundation for learning independently and with others. ATL skills help students prepare for, and demonstrate learning through, meaningful assessment. They provide a common language that students and teachers can use to reflect on and articulate on the process of learning.

Service and Action

Action (learning by doing and experiencing) is common to all IB programmes. Service has always been a shared value of the IB community.

IB learners strive to be caring members of the community who demonstrate a personal commitment to service, and act to make a positive difference to the lives of others and to the environment. IB World Schools value service with others as an important way to engage in principled action across a range of overlapping local and global communities.
