Our School at BISS Gausel
BISS Gausel is an international school for children aged 5 - 16 situated in the Gausel area of Stavanger. We are one of the three schools that are 'The British International Schools of Stavanger (BISS)'.
BISS Gausel has a Primary Years Department for ages 6 - 11 years and a Middle Years Department for students aged 11 - 16 years old.
As an authorised International Baccalaureate ® (IB) World School, the British International Schools of Stavanger (BISS) at Gausel is committed to fully implementing and further developing the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes.
Students at International Baccalaureate ® (IB) World Schools are given a unique education that focuses on teaching students to think critically and independently and to inquire with care and logic. The programmes prepare students to succeed in a world where facts and fiction merge and where asking the right questions is a crucial skill.
We offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students aged 6 – 11 years old and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students aged 11 to 16 years.
BISS Gausel was officially authorised to offer the PYP in 2014 and we have over 10 years experience offering the MYP.
Both programmes are delivered in English and we offer support for students with English as an additional language (EAL). In addition the students in PYP study Norwegian as an additional language. In the MYP they study Norwegian and German.
