BISS Sentrum, BISS Gausel and BISS Preschool are now full for the Academic Year 2024 - 25.
You can still apply up to 31.5.25, but your application will go onto the waiting list.
Places can become available before the start of the next academic year and also during the year.
We may be able to make further offers as any vacancies arise.
Admissions are now open for Academic Year 2025 - 26
Please note we do not carry forward applications from one school year to the next and you will need to reapply every year via your Classter profile, we will not send reminders for this.
It is the responsibility of the applicants to ensure they have applied for the correct school year. We will allocate places as and when they become available from submitted applications.
Offers will be sent from the end of April 2025 as places become available for

BISS Schools follow the Norwegian intake system. Students are placed according to the calendar year they were born.

School Fees
BISS Preschool fees - calendar year 2024
BISS Preschool - 100% - 5 day class (07:30 – 16:30), 22 000kr per year (2000kr per month)
BISS Preschool Snack Programme 1 650kr (150 per month)
Preschool application fee, 1 000kr (payable on entry).
- Preschool fees are set twice a year by Stavanger Kommune and are subject to change. Preschool fees include all school materials, but do not cover school clothing.
- Preschool fees will be invoiced in eleven, monthly instalments. Invoices are sent to parents, who have the sole responsibility for payment.
- Children who join the school mid-year will be invoiced from the first of the month in which they join, regardless of the actual start-date in the month.
- Acceptance fee - One month's fees are charged on receipt of the acceptance form. This fee will be deducted from your first invoice. If you have accepted a place and your child does not attend, this fee is not refundable.
- Withdrawal notice and withdrawal fee – Notice begins from the 1st of the month following submission of the withdrawal form. The withdrawal fee is equivalent to 3 months' Preschool fees at the current rate. When the leaving date is sooner than three months, the full withdrawal fee will be charged (equivalent to three months' fees). The three months' notice period includes all holiday periods.
BISS Gausel and BISS Sentrum
Primary and Secondary school fees - calendar year 2024
PY 1 - MYP 1 - 36 421kr per annum (3311kr per month)
MYP 2 - MYP 5 - 37 686kr per annum (3426kr per month)
- School fees are set by the Governing Boards of BISS Gausel and BISS Sentrum, based on rates set out by the UDIR (Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training). Changes to school fees will be published on the website in December. School fees are for students' educational instruction during the regular school day, including educational supplies, exercise books and the loan of textbooks. School fees do not cover school clothing.

Admissions criteria for BISS Preschool
- To children with special needs (§13), subject to availability in the age group and the group’s composition. Priority 1
- To staff requesting places for their children. Priority 2
- To siblings of children currently attending BISS. Priority 3
- To children who have a Norwegian Social Security Number. Priority 4
- To children who have an international or bilingual family. Priority 5
If several applicants meet all criteria equally, the Head of the Preschool will make a decision based on the individual class structure, for example, date of birth (the oldest child has priority).
Admissions Criteria - BISS Sentrum
- Current students of BISS Sentrum registering for the following academic year at BISS Sentrum. Priority 1
- Siblings of students already enrolled at BISS Sentrum. Priority 2
- Current students of BISS Pre-School 5. Priority 3
- Children of staff on permanent contracts and children of board members. Priority 4
- Applicants with a demonstrable interest in the IB curriculum. Priority 5
- Applicants from schools or pre-schools offering an international curriculum, in Norway, and abroad. Priority 6 (This includes former students of BISS Preschool, BISS Gausel, BISS Sentrum and the British International School of Stavanger)
- Students transferring from BISS Gausel to BISS Sentrum. Priority 7
If there is more than one applicant with the same priority, places will be allocated by lottery.

- Current students of BISS Gausel registering for the following academic year at BISS Gausel. Priority 1

How to Apply
The BISS Admissions Office handles applications for all three schools - BISS Gausel, BISS Sentrum and BISS Preschool.
The admissions process is made up of different steps.
Step 1: Create a parent profile and login
Step 2: Verify your email address and then log in with the password provided
Step 3: Complete the application form - you need to make separate applications for each of your children and for each school
Step 4: Submit your application
Step 5: Apply for another school for the same student or to apply for another child, return to the dashboard
You can save your application and come back to make changes.
Once you have submitted the application you will not be able to make any further changes.
