Governance
All the BISS organisations - BISS Preschool, BISS Gausel, BISS Sentrum and BISS Foundation - have a Board
The members of the board are responsible for the management of the school. They determine policies, plans and budgets necessary for the school's activities.
The board monitors the school´s financial position and is obliged to ensure that its activities, accounts and management are subject to satisfactory control. They annually set the tuition fees, review and approve the school budget.
The board must ensure that the children admitted to the school have their right to education fulfilled. It shall ensure the mission and vision, strategies and policies of the school as well as the philosophy of the IB program are implemented. It shall maintain a child-centred focus in all decision-making and ensure that the public subsidies and tuition fees benefit the children.
The board shall ensure that teachers and staff in the school have the opportunity to develop professionally and pedagogically.
Representatives of the student body, parents, staff and the city of Stavanger are represented on the board and have a right to share their opinions.
