§8 and §12 Registering a Concern

BISS Preschool, BISS Gausel and BISS Sentrum have a common goal –

All children and young people should feel included in a safe and good school environment that nurtures their health, well-being and learning.

An exclusionary and unsafe school environment harms children, therefore, it is our Schools’ duty to ensure and foster a safe and inclusive space in the best interests of the child or young person.  

§8 of the Barnehage Law

§12 of the Education Act  

In line with the child’s or young person’s right to a safe and good school environment, we have the following understanding of bullying:

Bullying of children is actions by adults and/or children that prevent the experience of belonging, of being a significant participant in the community and of having the opportunity to participate. It can be, for example:

• Verbal bullying
• Physical bullying
• Digital bullying
• Indirect bullying

Please register any concerns regarding the safety or well-being of any individual in BISS Schools by choosing the form for the school concerned.

Your message will be directed to the responsible Lead Designate for Safeguarding at the schooll. It's important to understand that Norwegian law requires us to treat this information as non-confidential, and your report may lead to a §12 or §8 Action Plan.

If you are unsure of which school to refer to, please still register your concern and mention this in the comments - we will make sure the correct person is informed.
