Additional Clubs - External Providers
Activities open to BISS students and the community are provided by outside agencies using the school premises. These activities greatly enhance the extra curricular programme offered by teaching staff.
Chess

Music fun for the very young

Step Dance Studio

Rainbows - Open to the Community
The 1st Stavanger Rainbows pack is for girls aged 5 - 7 and meets weekly at BISS. Girls participate in a wide variety of activities including crafts, working towards enrolment and guiding badges and learning new games and songs. Ist Stavanger Beavers Scouts - Open to the community
As pre-cursor to Cubs, Beavers is for boys and girls 5 3/4 to 8 years old. The group meets on Thursdays from 3 pm - 4.15 pm. We meet in the lower school hall - use car park entrance. Beavers will re-start 09.09.10. For further details contact Ali Campbell 40 83 19 10 or Sandra Bradley 51 80 02 08. Children can only be entered onto the waiting list once they reach 5 yrs 9 mths.
Brownies - Open to the Community
We are the 2nd Stavanger Brownie Pack. Brownies is for girls between the ages of 7 and 10. We have lots of fun at Brownies; we play games, sing songs, and make things. For more information about joining Brownies please contact Jeanine Milner via the school office tel: 51 95 02 50.
Cubs - Open to the Community
Cub scouts is for boys and girls aged 7 3/4 - 11 years. We explore the outdoors; play games; undertake challenges; learn about the planet and above all have fun. We meet on Thursday from 1800 - 1915 hrs. Contact Catherine Elliot via school office 51 95 02 50.
Guides - Open to the community
Guiding is for all girls in Year 5 onwards. Girls wishing to join the group should contact Fiona Jones via the school office tel. 51 95 02 50.
Lillegym - Open to the Community
A programme of physical education for toddlers (15 months to ca. 3 years) and their parents. The aims of the programme are as follows:
- to enable toddlers to develop and extend their physical abilities so that they become confident in the use of their bodies and how they move. Guided play focuses on skills such as agility, balance, strength, hand/eye coordination, spatial relationships,etc;
- to provide recreational facilities for the physical development of the pre-school child;
- to provide opportunities for shared experience between child and parent in an enjoyable and challenging environment;
- to encourage children to learn social skills through shared games, physical activities and singing
- last but not least, Lillegym is a great way for parents with toddlers to meet each other.
Sessions are given on Monday mornings at 09.30 and 10.30 in the big school gym during term time at the BISS. For more information and/or registration call Christel Gibbs, qualified PE and British Wheel of Yoga teacher.
