The British International School provides a Child Care facility from 0730 to 0910 hours and 1200 to 1630 hours.  Child Care places are limited with priority given to families where both parents work outside the home.  Child Care services will re-commence on 25 August 2008. 

Child Care is not available during school holidays.

Childcare Reservations
For occasional use of the Child Care facilities, please reserve a place by contacting the school office: Tel. 51 95 02 50 email: office@biss.no no later than 1400 hours. 

Places will be dependent on availability on any given day.  In an emergency, any child not collected from school is automatically placed in Child Care.

Clip Cards
Child Care has introduced a clip card payment system for 2008 - 2009.  You can purchase Child Care clip cards in amounts of 400 kr, 600 kr, 800 kr or 1000 kr.  The larger the amount you purchase the more free additional hours you receive.

Clip Cards are purchased from the child care staff.  The clip cards record your child’s name and are kept by the childcare staff.  At the end of each session your child’s time in the facility will be deducted from the card.   Reminder slips will be sent home when your child’s clip card is close to depletion. 

Childcare is 40 kr per hour with times rounded up to the nearest half hour.  Occasional users will be charged 50 kr per hour.

Hours
Childcare is open 0730 to 0910 hours and 1200 to 1630 hours.

Please note that children cannot be admitted to the Child Care facility before 0730 hours.  Similarly, children are not admitted after 0845 hours into the Child Care facility.

There is an additional 80 kr surcharge (2 hours clip card) for children collected after 1630 hours.   This is to cover staff overtime costs.
