Middle Years Programme
Our Secondary School offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP).
The Middle Years Programme emphasises intellectual challenge. It aims to develop active learners and internationally minded young people, who can empathise with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning.
The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally.
The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers.
The MYP Programme encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, preparing them for success in further study and in life.
The IB Middle Years Programme provides an academic framework that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, as well as becoming critical and reflective thinkers. The MYP also enables connections to be made between subjects, while maintaining the integrity of the disciplines.
This is complemented by a range of activities offering an emphasis on student well-being.
As parents, we particularly appreciate the balance that the school strives to find between our children's academic, social and emotional development.
The programme concludes with e-examinations and the Personal Project - an extended piece of research, which is prepared over a two year period and presented at an exhibition in the final year of study.
